IMM Labs - Materials and devices for advanced system based on flexible electronics
Flexible electronics is a new part of electronics that allows merging the functionalities of smart materials with unconventional configurations, thus enabling the fabrication of wearable solutions, ultra-flexible implants and ultra-compact biochips. In particular the research activity is focused on specific aspects regarding the development of low temperature process for the fabrication of electronics based on thin film transistors (TFTs) on plastic substrates by using both inorganic and organic materials. With this technology, the group can fabricate flexible chemical/physical sensors and biosensors based on nano-materials (ZnO nanorods, nanowalls, blend of silver nanowires, silicon nanowires, etc.), nanostructured microelectrodes for brain computer interface, and smart platforms for human robot safe interactions.
